Feast with Friends

Molly, out of the blue, asked if she could throw a Feast with Friends party. I asked her what that was and she said it was a celebration of Thanksgiving with friends. We didn't talk much more about it for a few days. She brought it up again and told me the girls she wanted to invite from school. She told me she wanted it on November 10th because it was a Saturday and she wanted 6 girls to come. We talked a little more about what she was thinking, then again, I left it at that. The week before she said we needed to get invitations out and gave me the menu of what she wanted to serve for the feast.......chicken, blueberries and bread. 

Sure, why not? Let's throw a party if you want to have a party! So, we made up some cheap little invitations and she handed them out at school the next day. All of the moms called to RSVP and as each one called, I would pass it along to Molly letting her know they were able to come. She was so excited she could hardly sleep the next two days! We came up with a little craft and a game.

The girls arrived around noon on November 10th. They first went in to the living room to introduce everyone (not all of them are in the same class) and say one thing they were Thankful for. Then came in for the "feast". One little girl asked if that was all we were having......I laughed pretty good. Because yes....a "feast" would fill your plate. As it was, the chicken, blueberries and bread, left plenty of room! But we had plenty of the 3 items. They ate, made Indian headbands, then played try and eat the doughnut off the string! It was a huge success. Scott was a great help. Molly was thrilled and now wants to have a party every month! I told her we might need to space them out like every few months. She's already planning her Valentines Day party.......Valentines and Cupids!
