Attempt #2

The second attempt was much better. Scott did it this time, so maybe that was part of the reason. He knew that's all he had to offer, so he accepted. As you can see from the pictures, he was loving it and still quite happy.......course, when he is he not happy?

First Foods

We attempted to start Foster on Rice cereal a few weeks ago. Our first attempt was not successful. However, the second time worked much better.

Guess he didn't know what was coming. He was so happy before.

Before

Well, we'd had enough of the old, small bathroom. So, we decided to improve it a bit. Couldn't change the size of the whole bathroom, but we could do something about the short small vanity and old three way mirror (one side didn't even open because it was crammed against the wall). We tore everything out one night then went to work. Should I say, Scott went to work and ordered me around in between taking care of the house, kids and meals. It was an every night when he got home from work project and part of Saturday to finish.

The vanity came up to the middle of my thighs (maybe a little higher) and there wasn't much space for putting things on the sink counter.

We got these knee pads for Christmas from Scott's brother and sister-in-law. I don't think they knew they would come in handy for remodeling the bathroom.

After

Scott did an amazing job on the whole bathroom. He's quite the handy man. He didn't even hit any important pipes or wires while doing it.

The new vanity and sink. It's such an improvement from the original. We are so glad to have it and the storage it provides.

Scott's mom sent these cute flirty aprons for Molly and I. We absolutely LOVE them. Almost too cute to wear to cook in. Mary, thanks for the thoughtful Christmas gift.

Grandma Jacobs

Here are just a few pictures of my wonderful grandma. Like I said earlier, she and my grandpa were married almost 66 years. This woman is a great example to all. She truly is admirable in every way. She's been staying with my aunt in Washington and boy do we miss her. She has a cute blog of her own and checks her grandkids blogs weekly. She is quite the grandma. So, here's a little tribute to her. (Pictures are from November, but still shows the beauty in this woman)

Sweet sweet lady

My grandpa was a horse lover so there was nothing short of perfect with the way the casket was taken to the cemetery. Horse and buggy with his horse following behind.

There were about 20 cousins that couldn't make it to the funeral. What a great legacy of John and Dorothy Jacobs.

Grandpa Jacobs

This has been a long time coming. I just wanted to post some pictures of my awesome grandpa who passed away November 2. It was a bit of a shock, but he lived a long and wonderful 84 (85 in January) years. I am proud and honored to be a part of his legacy. He and my grandma have been married 65 (66 in April) years. Highschool sweethearts. This post is more for my family, but all of you are welcome to look. He was a great example of showing love and support and we all miss him dearly.

Always a smile and some sort of hat upon his head. He loved and lived life to the fullest.

I will never forget the bit of food left around his lips and never having it bother me when we kissed good-bye. He's the greatest grandpa around.

When I was little he always called me "little bird". One day I said, "well if I'm little bird, that makes you big bird." Here's to you, big bird!

After the safari drive, we walked around another part of the zoo and found this little monkey. Must say she was one of the cutest.

Molly and Leah are about 6 months apart. This was just too cute to pass up.

Molly, along with all the other kids, totally enjoyed feeding these animals wood pellets. Well, they looked like wood pellets. It was really cool to see some up close.

Animal Safari

I think Tuesday we headed to the Animal Safari. We piled into a 14 passenger zebra painted van and headed out into the "wild". The van windows were busted out and bars placed in to keep the animals from being able to get all the way into the van. You can rent theirs zebra vans or drive your own in. We were glad to have theirs slobbered on. Here are some photos of the animals.

As you can see (if you look close) we're glad to have the rented van. Wouldn't want that drool in my window....yuck!

I think Monday, we went to Callaway Gardens. We had a picnic, played at the park, went to the butterfly exhibit, and drove out just as all the park Christmas lights were coming on. It was awesome.

Sunday, December 28th

Sunday was Cousin Emily's Birthday. We were lucky enough to be there and join in on the Princes Birthday party. They had dresses to accommodate all the little girls. They were pretty cute. Happy Birthday Emily and thanks for letting us be there to celebrate!

Day after Christmas

Because it has taken me so long to finally finish blogging our Georgia trip, I can't remember if we did the Coke Factory Tour the day after or two days after. Anyway, we drove to Atlanta and toured the Coke Factory. It was really fun seeing all the advertisements for Coke, little movies with moving seats and squirting water, and taste test at the end. We tasted several other countries versions of Coke and Coke products. Some were tasty, others not so tasty. Kinda like they forgot the syrup and only had carbonation. It was a great touristy thing to do and we had a lot of fun.

Since Mary and David were unable to fly to Georgia, this was the next best way to be a part of Christmas. Their heads were taken all around the room to watch everything. It was great.
