SURPRISE.........

.....we're going to DISNEYLAND!!!

Ever since Scott and I's two mom and dad only trips, we knew we wanted to do something fun for the kids. We took them camping twice (and they would have been content with that) but we wanted to do something more. When Scott told me had two days off the second week in November, I suggested we go to Disneyland. Didn't take much to convince him, so off we were. 

The kids knew we were going to drive in the car a long way and stay at a hotel, but they had no idea what we were doing for the "surprise trip". We got ready and told them and it was pretty anticlimactic at first, but then the next 5 minutes they could hardly contain themselves.......it must have needed to sink it!

Our hotel was less than half a mile to the front of Disneyland, so we loaded up the stroller and headed to the park. We had early entry tickets for Thursday morning. And actually, the 3 days of being there, it really was not as crowded as I anticipated. We waited in a few lines, but not many. The longest waits were for the princesses :). It was a great 3 days. The kids did great, I did great ;), and my husband was the best!

First snow that stuck

First snow fall of the year that actually stuck. The kids wanted to get their snow gear on and get out in it. It was good to get the snow clothes out and take inventory.......as you can tell, Molly needs new snow pants. I don't think the carpi's will cut it!

Fall

Just trying to get caught up before the holidays. So I can get behind again!

Just a few pictures from playing in the leaves the other day. We had my sister and brother in law's boys over for the day and spent some time outside. They had a lot of fun. Thank you to my neighbor who mowed up the remains after :)

Halloween Night

Just a few pictures from Halloween night. After we did Foster's hair green on Friday, we were getting ready for church on Sunday and when Scott went to put gel in his hair, he asked for the green kind. Hahahaha, could you imagine if he was a super stubborn kid and we were push over parents and we let him go to church with green hair? For Halloween, Scott even did his eyebrows green. Little bias, but I think we've got some pretty cute kids!

Ward Halloween Party

Our ward had it's Halloween party on Friday night. The kids were so excited to get their costumes on and go trunk or treating. We had a chili feed first, then a little "dancing with the ghouls". Not exactly what anyone wanted to do, but the people in charge of activity thought this would be a good activity. Sure, whatever. So they put each auxiliary in charge of doing a 60 second dance. Since Scott is in the bishopric and I in the Relief Society presidency, we were assigned. Oh, well....whatchya gonna do. So we made the most of it and mostly made fools of ourselves. Our Relief Society group won the contest by the way! :)

It was funny, from his 60 second dancing debut, Scott got so many compliments on what a good dancer he was! He definitely was the best dancer up there :)

Pumpkin Carving

We carved pumpkins for Halloween the week before Halloween. Molly didn't mind getting the pumpkin guts out this year. Last year, she didn't want anything to do with them. Fos, because of his phobia of getting his hands dirty, didn't stick around too long. It was a lot of fun. Molly drew what kind of face she wanted Scott to carve out for her and Fos let me choose. We found a cute owl on-line. I attempted a witch but it looked more like a thug with sticky hair and Scott did Frankenstein. They all turned out pretty good for the most part! 

A friend of mine had told me she had this jeep to "give away" so I told her I'd take it. She dropped it off while we were carving our pumpkins and needless to say, we lost Fos to the jeep! He absolutely LOVES this thing. Rain or shine, he wants to be out riding it.

Pumpkin Patch

We went to this pumpkin patch last year with our good friends, the Lucas'. It was a great place for the kids. We need to get there earlier next year because there is so much fun stuff for the kids to do, but by the time we go, it gets too dark and too cold (for the mama's :). We go on a little ride on the back of a tractor to a pumpkin patch, everyone picks out a pumpkin, then we go let the kids slide and ride the cow train and play in the corn box (instead of sand box). It's a lot of fun and as long as we can get the city deals for it, we will keep going back!

Wild Horse Canyon

Saturday we got up, ate a gourmet breakfast of bagels and fruit, packed up camp, and headed to explore. We didn't have all day, we only had until noon, so we had to hurry. We drove to Wild Horse Canyon and started our hike. It was so cool. I'd never been in anything like it. The rocks were amazing and I loved the narrowness of it. The kids LOVED it too because they could climb all over. This seriously was a great place to take kids. We are for sure going back next summer when we don't have anything we have to hurry home for!
