The day finally came when our Mexico trip arrived. We purchased our tickets almost a year ago and waited to see who would be able to come with us. Unfortunately for everyone else, but fortunately for us, we went alone. We just called it our second honeymoon. It was so much fun just the two of us exploring and going and doing as we pleased. My sister Jessica and her husband and our good friend, Jamie and her husband split up the time with the kids. A HUGE thanks to both of them for helping put our minds at ease knowing our kids were in good hands.
Day 1 was hang out at the beach in the morning then go shopping in Playa Del Carmen in the afternoon on "5th Ave."
My handsome husband -- kinda looks like baywatch
We stayed at an All-Inclusive Resort in Puerto Morelos just south of Cancun. It was so much fun sipping our "NO alcohol" Miami Vices.
We decided to rent a car when we started checking prices on taxi's and thinking of all we wanted to do. This was the cheapest car (but not the smallest) Muy poquito carro! We didn't feel silly sitting driving in the car, but when we went to go get in it or would see one on the road, we'd start laughing.
This was 5th Ave. in Playa. A shopping street. It reminded me of a Mexican version of 16th street mall in Denver.
ole'!
Beach in Playa
It was much more crowded here. We were so glad we stayed in a little smaller town just north of Playa Del Carmen.
We thought these sweaters were pretty funny. I guess it's for the tourist who come from cold weather.
Just me and mi amigo!
