Arc De Triomphe

After the Louvre, we walked to the Arc De Triomphe. The Arc De Triomphe was authorized by Napoleon in 1806 for his victories, but he was ousted before the arc was complete. It finally was finished in 1836.  It was a pretty fascinating arc. We were even able to climb the 234 stairs to the top to observe the whole city. It was a gorgeous day and we could see for miles!

The Luxor Obelisk was transported from Egypt to Paris in 1833. Can you imagine transporting this thing? I think I would just build another.

The Grand Palais (palace). Paris was hosting the World's fair  in 1900 and because of it's importance, wanted to build special buildings. This was one of them. It has 162,000 sq. ft. of glass. Pretty amazing. We didn't go in, but we walked by it a few times!

The view from the top. Look closely at the chaos of cars. The only line on the road was in the middle, dividing the traffic directions. Otherwise, you are free to make your own lane. Kinda crazy, but fun!

Another view

One of the many views in the city of the Eiffle Tower.
