Moving Day

The packers came on Friday, October 10. They made quick work of our place, and packed 60 boxes in just a few hours. They also went through all the boxes that we packed and re-packed some of them. We asked them if they would hire us as packers and they said we would get fired based on our glass packing skill...not so good. This picture is them re-packing our garage.

On Monday, October 13 the movers came. They showed up with an enormous truck that was way too big to get into our complex. They were lucky that our place was so close to the road. Everything we own fit into about 20% of this truck. They started loading the truck from the back, and only filled up to the open door shown in the picture.

The movers where quite impressive...a bit scary, but impressive. This little guy was a mule! He would strap a couple heavy boxes to his back and carry even more...the elders quorum could take a few lessons from these guys.

The movers did a great job protecting our stuff. Eveything was wrapped in blankets, then shrink wrapped.

MOVING

For those of you who have not yet heard, we will be moving to this wonderful city below. Salt Lake City, here we come. Our condo sold a few weeks before we found out Scott got the Utah job. We leave beautiful, wonderful AWESOME Colorado the weekend of October 25th. He starts there the 27th. But, before all this happens, we close on our condo here, October 14th. So, we'll be homeless for a short while! New baby, new house, new job and new State. Just a few noteworthy life changes! We are excited for all of them.

5.5 Weeks

Our little man is growing up so fast. Time flies when you're having fun. Foster is now 5 and 1/2 weeks old. We tried to capture some smiling photos and this is what we got.

This picture is great. Most kids fall asleep anywhere. Molly has fallen asleep in her high chair twice in her life (this being the second). This girl fights sleep tooth and nail, but somehow it won this time. We were watching conference while she was sitting here. She was awfully quiet, so I decided to check on her to see what HUGE mess she had made, and this is what I found. It was too precious to go unblogged!

Just a few photos of some cute kids. I'm going to have to post a lot this week because who knows when I'll have our computer set up to post. We'll be sure to take pictures of our next few weeks though.

Foster is 5 weeks in this one. Can't believe how time flies. He is such a good baby. Cries when his belly is either hungry or gassy, or needs a diaper change. Other than that, he's really good. He will actually just chill in our arms without making noises.......something his sister didn't do.

Molly's hair didn't get done, as you can see, before breakfast. She loved the whipped cream. She even dipped her bacon in it.......course, she was copying Hudson.

Sunday Brunch

Our Awesome friends and neighbors, Pete and Cassidy and Hudson, invited us down for Sunday Brunch. Cassidy had told me about these puff pancakes that they tried one morning, little did I know we each get our very own. So, Pete slaved away making these delicious puff while Cassidy made yummy homemade whipped cream. So, these breakfast dessert pies were filled with tasty strawberries and the cream. We sure are gonna miss these wonderful neighbors of ours. I'm thinking we might just have to find Pete a job in SLC.

Before Diving in! Scott actually finished the entire thing. Noteworthy since he doesn't even care for breakfast until about 10 or 11 usually. Pete and Cassidy said he would win a T-shirt.

Time on My Hands?

Well, you'd think I'd be able to do better than once a month postings with a sleeping baby. But be it known to all, Molly and Foster have something against me. They don't like to nap at the same time. So, between feedings, holdings, playing with my poor neglected 2 year old, and picking up the house every once in a while, I have let our blog go. We take the pictures, we just don't post them like we should. So, we'll give it a try. They are both asleep for now. But I hear some stirrings from the Fos man. I'll hurry.

Life is good. We are enjoying being parents of 2 wonderful children. Molly has been amazing at the adjusting to a new baby brother......until today. Not sure what the problem was but she was down right defiant and onery. I didn't know what to do. So, we have toys up above our computer and the snake is in the closet because she lost privleges of playing with them. Too bad it doesn't really work because she was trying to put other toys into the closet to punish herself.

I'm a horrible mom, I lost it and gave her diaper padded toosh a swat today. Later when she was acting up again, I asked her if she wanted a spankin and she said, "yes". What? this is the child that puts herself in timeout when she knows she's out of line. Guess I should'nt be surprised at her response of wanting a spankin. Does anyone know how to handle defiant children? I'm told Scott might have a had a little of that in him at about the same age. So, we are living and learning.

At the same time, you can't help but absolutely love the girl. She is always making me laugh at the things she says. She loves the mole on my jaw and I try to get her to call it a beauty mark, but she refuses and calls it a mole. So, when doing her princesses names she points to Sleeping Beauty and calls her "Beauty Mark". I laughed pretty hard so now, of course, she says it every time.

On to Foster.......he's growing like a weed. Loves to snack ALL THE TIME! He gained a whole pound at his two week appointment. The doctor was shocked and said we might want to try a bottle to give me a break. He's as cute as he can be. We ALL love him to pieces. He sleeps a lot, eats a lot, messes his diaper A LOT, and still has his nights and days backwards. But, hopefully soon, we will all get it figured out. Here's some recent shots of the little man.

Due Date

It's hard to believe today is the actualy due date of Foster. We can't remember what it's like to not have him around. I can't imagine the last 12 days without him. He's so sweet and precious. We are absolutely enamored by this little man. What a blessing he is in our lives. It's crazy to think life existed without Foster. He doesn't have any tricks yet, he just likes to eat, sleep and mess his diapers. We've got to get Molly potty trained soon or I'm going to have to go back to work just to afford the diapers of 2. Molly continues to adore her "baby brother", constantly giving him "big hugs" and "little kisses". Thank goodness she's somewhat gentle.

Some Things Go.....

....by the wayside. Some things we used to not let Molly do, are o.kay these days. Whatever keeps her from tackling her little brother. This was totally allowed one day while I was getting ready. I was trying to teach her proper application of the makeup, but she insisted on mixing things and putting whatever wherever. What are ya gonna do?

Molly Turns 2

We had a nice, quiet, small birthday for Molly. We didn't want to do it too big, but we wanted to make it a special day. Timing worked out great with her not getting as much attention these days. We think she had a great day. She still thinks she's one, but can show you 2 fingers.

Embarrassing to post this, but this is the Birthday cake I made her. It's supposed to be a castle for those of you who don't have a creative mind :).
