Some Things Go.....

....by the wayside. Some things we used to not let Molly do, are o.kay these days. Whatever keeps her from tackling her little brother. This was totally allowed one day while I was getting ready. I was trying to teach her proper application of the makeup, but she insisted on mixing things and putting whatever wherever. What are ya gonna do?

Molly Turns 2

We had a nice, quiet, small birthday for Molly. We didn't want to do it too big, but we wanted to make it a special day. Timing worked out great with her not getting as much attention these days. We think she had a great day. She still thinks she's one, but can show you 2 fingers.

Embarrassing to post this, but this is the Birthday cake I made her. It's supposed to be a castle for those of you who don't have a creative mind :).

Belleview Park

We headed out to Belleview Park yesterday afternoon to get out of the house a bit. Here we are waiting for the train to depart.

Welcome Foster Scott Walton

Foster was born today at 2:00 pm. Mom and baby are doing great!

6 lbs 8 oz - 19.25" long - 1.5 pushes

She didn't want to share and held him for 20 minutes when she first met him.

Its Finished!

Here is the finished product. I'm happy with it overall. I definately learned a lot as I stumbled my way through it. Some parts look good, other parts look ok and some parts will never be seen.

On the Count Down

It's either Feast or Famine for us. Guess we're catching up and making up for not posting in the next few weeks. But, I am officially over 38 weeks. Still feeling really good. His movements are very strong these days and somewhat uncomfortable. But all is well. The specialist doc I have been seeing said there was nothing she was really concerned about yesterday. The placenta is hanging in there, but not great, but she thinks he'll do fine with labor. He's growing and that's the main thing! (and so am I)38 weeks and loving it! Love the quiet nights (at least no newborn baby crying), the just Molly and me days, the one kid to put in the car, the one kid to have to plan around (whether I need a nap or want to clean or do whatever), the putting one kid down at nights, the not having to worry about the newborns eyes being poked out yet, the feeding the newborn from what I eat only, the no exercising, the taking Molly to open gym and letting her play and having all my attention go toward her. I need to take advantage of these next two weeks as much as I can.

The PROJECT!

Thank goodness I've had those books to read, because this was a nice compromise to me getting to have my nose in books while Scott had his "little" project! I'm so amazed at his talent and his interest in building this bed. He had Molly and I come out when it was all put together. He still has yet to paint it, but it looks AMAZING!!!!! I'm really glad he enjoys things like this and can't wait to have a house to put more of his projects in it. Molly was so excited to see her bed. She wanted to get "in" with her dad.

No, this is not where Molly spectated from. Nice workshop huh? Scott so kindly put up plastic to protect our other things stored in the garage!

The BIG 30

I've finally made it to real adulthood. I thought maybe it might be a little like going through a mid-life crisis, but it wasn't anything like that at all. I've embraced the 30's like they are my new best friend for the next decade. I've learned that if you can't beat them, join them. So here I am! In the sought after 30's club.

I wasn't about to get out of bed at 6 a.m. for Scott to give my gifts, so it all started when he got home from work. I got three envelopes to chose from. One had a "get away" brochure that included a trip to Steamboat Springs, over night, without Molly for the first time. The second was a gift card for shopping (can't go wrong there) and the third was a coupon . Molly got me a tea kettle (something I kept saying I would like to have....more so in the winter of course, but now was as good as a time as any).

Later that night, we went to Scott's last Church Softball game and then home for my yummy dessert made by Scott himself. It was sooooooooo tasty. A few friends came over to help us enjoy.

On August the 10th, (3 days after the actual day) I was totally surprised by so many friends for a spaghetti feast at our friends house. They acted like it was our usual of going to their house for Sunday Dinner, until we opened the door to find many people yelling "SURPRISE". Surprised I was! It was a lot of fun! Thanks so much to everyone for coming and especially Mindy and James for setting it all up.

Stephanie Meyers

Oh, where do I begin? So, I finally finished the Stephanie Meyers series of books. I was so intrigued with them I did nothing but read. ALL my free time was spent on the couch trying to figure out what would happen next. I took the doctor's orders very seriously and was put on "bed rest". I loved when Molly went down for naps, or when I was awake enough at 6:30 a.m. to pick my book up, or when Scott wanted to go work on the bed after Molly was down for the night. I couldn't get enough. Unfortunately, I am finished. I started 2 weeks ago and there are 4 books. I was hoping they'd last through being at the hospital and the rest of my doctor's appointments. Guess I'll have to find another series to read. I'll take any suggestions! Good news is now, I can catch ya'll up on the last month.

35 WEEKS

This kid probably already is feeling the neglect of the second child. I have not taken nearly as many photos as I did when I was pregnant with Molly. So, we are just trying to catch up. Yes, only 35 days to go.....but who's counting? Oh, that's right, our little tracker. Thanks to him I can keep better track of my weeks and days and months. Otherwise, I just have to tell people my due date and let them figure out my weeks. Pregnancy is going alright. They are worried about this little guy gaining weight, so I have twice a week appointments for non-stress tests and specialist appointments. So much fun. I'm just stressing what I'm supposed to do with Molly during all these appointments. Oh well. Thank goodness I've got great friends around to help out! We'll keep ya'll posted for sure!

Volleyball!

Just a few Volleyball photos. We played A LOT of v-ball. It was a little hot at times, so they started making the losers go on the slip-n-slide. Then they realized it was a privilege to get wet, so after each game, everyone would take a turn.

More Reunion.....

These are just a few other pictures from our Jacobs Family Reunion. We were in Star Valley, WY. A beautiful valley just south of Jackson, WY. We played lots of V-ball, went on hikes, did a zip line (well, those of us who weren't pregnant), rode motorcycles and bikes, swam in little fishing holes, and visited a lot. The days were a perfect temperature (in the shade) and the nights were perfect if you were close enough to the fire. It was a great time!
